
DJ McCain Captures Three-Peat with X275 Victory at AJPE Shakedown at M'Town
DJ McCain continued his incredible winning streak in X275, driving the "Vecna" nitrous-powered Corvette to victory at the AJPE Shakedown at M'Town held at US 131 Motorsports Park. This marked McCain’s third consecutive victory in Radial Outlaws Racing Series competition, highlighting his consistency and sharp driving under pressure.
Event Highlights
Qualified #3: McCain entered eliminations in a strong position after qualifying third with a solid 4.138 at 172 mph.
Round 1: McCain started strong, running a consistent 4.159 to defeat Mark Meiering’s 4.366.
Round 2: DJ improved his performance, clocking a 4.143 to eliminate Jeff Moses, who unfortunately red-lit with a 4.299.
Semifinals: Continuing to impress, McCain ran his best pass of eliminations, a quick 4.121 at 174 mph, to defeat Adam Bastarache, who also went red.
Finals: The final round was a thrilling nail-biter against #1 qualifier Ron Rhodes. McCain’s incredible reaction time of .005 and his 4.107 elapsed time narrowly defeated Rhodes’ slightly quicker 4.103 and .041 reaction time, securing McCain the event win.
