Brian Weddle Takes LDR Finale Victory as Jamie Hancock Earns Championship

Brian Weddle turned in a string of 3.80-second passes on his way to the Limited Drag Radial victory at No Mercy 17, defeating Chad Henderson in the final round.

The event also brought the FuelTech Radial Outlaws Racing Series season to a close, with Jamie Hancock crowned the LDR champion.

Weddle qualified his 1967 Camaro second with a 3.821 at 189.47 mph, just one thousandth of a second behind Henderson. After advancing past Tim Dutton in the opening round, Weddle ran 3.809 at 189.34 mph to defeat Tommy Youmans.

He then faced Bryan Priest in the semifinals. Priest fouled at the starting line, and Weddle completed a 3.816 at 188.78 mph to advance.

The final paired the top two qualifiers. Henderson left first with a .024 reaction time, but Weddle made another 3.816-second pass, this time at 189.20 mph, to secure the win. Henderson finished with an 11.466 at 55.62 mph.
