Brylon Holder proved his skill and determination, capturing the LAT Racing Oils Pro 275 class victory at the 2025 Battle for the Thrones at Rockingham Dragway. Holder’s consistent runs and clutch performance in the finals cemented his status as one of the class’s top contenders.
Event Highlights
- Qualifying: Holder began the weekend strong, qualifying third with an impressive 3.678 at 198.33 mph, positioning himself among the frontrunners heading into eliminations.
- Round 1: Holder took advantage of a first-round bye, setting the stage for eliminations and gaining valuable track data to prepare for tough competition ahead.
- Round 2: Holder ran a solid 3.754 at 196 mph, defeating David Reese’s 3.912 and advancing into the semifinals.
- Semifinals: Holder continued to impress, taking out veteran Bill Lutz with a run of 3.773 at 196 mph compared to Lutz’s 3.812, moving decisively into the final round.
- Finals: In an electrifying final round against 2024 Pro 275 Champion Mo Hall, Holder pulled off a thrilling holeshot victory, running a 3.686 at 197 mph to Hall’s quicker but losing 3.658 at 203 mph. Holder’s reaction time made all the difference, securing the class win and showcasing his talent under pressure.
An emotional Holder described his first victory at Battle for the Thrones after two previous runner-up finishes:
“This still doesn’t feel real! We’ve been runner-up twice at this race and we finally got the win. Mo Hall—that was one hell of a drag race! Big thanks to everyone who supports us, especially my family, Lyons Custom Motorsports, and our crew. We’ve been waiting for this moment for three years, and it feels incredible.”
With this crucial victory at Rockingham Dragway, Holder and his team have gained significant momentum heading into Bama Outlaws presented by Truckworx April 29th-May 3rd at Alabama International Dragway.
