Jamie Stanton Grinds Out LDR Victory at No Mercy 16

Jamie Stanton fought through a tough ladder and delivered when it counted, winning the Limited Drag Radial (LDR) class at No Mercy 16 at South Georgia Motorsports Park. Driving with a mix of control and composure, Stanton survived tricky rounds and tight races, including a razor-thin final, to take home one of the most competitive LDR wins of the season.

Event Highlights Qualified #1:
Stanton set the pace early with a 3.848 at 191.70 MPH, good enough to earn the top qualifying spot and a first-round bye to start eliminations.

Round 2:
Stanton met Bryan Priest in the second round and stayed consistent with a 3.874 at 188.46 MPH. Priest made it close with a 3.914 at 187.08 MPH, but Stanton had just enough to move on.

Round 3:
One of the closest battles of the weekend came against 2023 LDR champ Jamie Hancock. Stanton ran a 3.920 at 189.12 MPH, while Hancock was right there with a 3.915 at 185.05 MPH. The margin was slim, but Stanton took the stripe and moved on to the semifinals.

Semifinals:
Facing Jay Trisel, Stanton struggled down track but made it count with a 5.664 at 160 MPH, as Trisel had more trouble and slowed to a 6.533 at 109.20 MPH. It wasn’t pretty, but it got the job done.

Final Round:
In the finals, Stanton matched up with Justin Martin, who laid down a strong 3.863 at 199.23 MPH. But Stanton edged out the win with a 3.877 at 189.98 MPH, taking the W on a holeshot and proving that reaction time still matters, even in heads-up racing.

Looking Ahead
Jamie Stanton’s LDR win at No Mercy 16 wasn’t a walk in the park, it was a weekend of close calls and hard-fought passes. But in the end, he delivered when the pressure was on. With this victory, Stanton adds his name to a growing list of standouts in a class that continues to tighten up every round.
