Lyle Barnett backed up his number-one qualifier spot with a wire-to-wire victory in the Pro 275 class at No Mercy 16, held at South Georgia Motorsports Park. In a field packed with seasoned talent, Barnett and his team stayed consistent all weekend, tuning his car to the track and delivering round after round. Qualified #1:
Barnett came out swinging in qualifying with a 3.642 at 207.27 MPH, putting him on top of the sheet and setting the tone for the rest of the event.
Round 1:
With the number-one spot secured, Barnett had a bye run in the opening round, giving him a clean pass to start eliminations and a chance to prep for tougher competition ahead.
Round 2:
He lined up against veteran Mark Woodruff next. Barnett stayed dialed in, running a 3.645 at 206.16 MPH. Woodruff encountered issues and couldn’t make a full run, giving Barnett the clear advantage to move forward.
Round 3:
Barnett’s car shook the tires early in the round three matchup against Roger Holder, resulting in a slower 4.252 at 185.97 MPH. But it was enough to advance after Holder ran into his own issues on the line.
Semifinals:
Back on pace, Barnett delivered a strong 3.694 at 206.07 MPH against Eddie Harrison, who put up a solid 3.804 at 198.29 MPH. The pass sent Barnett into the finals with momentum on his side.
Final Round:
In the final, Barnett met up with 2024 Pro 275 champ Mo Hall for a marquee matchup. Both racers were clean off the line, but Barnett’s 3.702 at 205.76 MPH edged out Hall’s 3.785 at 201.01 MPH, sealing the win in decisive fashion.
