Lackey Breaks Through for X275 Win at 2026 US Street Nationals

Billy Lackey delivered a consistent and controlled performance to earn the X275 victory at the 2026 US Street Nationals, the opening round of the Radial Outlaws Racing Series, held last week at Bradenton Motorsports Park.

Lackey qualified fourth in a deep X275 field with a 4.149 at 174.62 mph, setting himself up well for a demanding elimination ladder.


Elimination Round Summary

Round One vs. Derek Cooper
Lackey opened eliminations with a solid run, posting a 4.171 at 176.49 mph to defeat Cooper, who followed with a 4.278 at 172.08 mph.

Round Two vs. Trevor Fuqua
In round two, Lackey stayed consistent, running 4.172 at 175.80 mph to advance past Fuqua’s 4.222 at 171.75 mph.

Semifinals vs. DJ McCain
The semifinals brought a marquee matchup against DJ McCain, the 2025 X275 Champion. Lackey rose to the occasion, leaving with a .053 reaction time and running 4.137 at 176.21 mph to defeat McCain’s 4.189 at 171.16 mph, earning his place in the final round.

Final Round vs. Ron Rhodes
In the final, Lackey sealed the win with his best run of eliminations. A clean 4.125 at 176.93 mph carried him to the X275 victory as Rhodes encountered trouble and slowed to a 5.578 at 101.64 mph.

With consistent elapsed times and a standout semifinal victory over the defending champion, Lackey opened the 2026 season with momentum in one of the most competitive small-tire classes in radial racing.
