Snot Rocket Charges to LDR Victory at Lights Out 17

The VP Racing Fuels Limited Drag Radial field at Lights Out 17 was packed with talent, big horsepower, and some of the quickest small tire cars in the country. When eliminations wrapped up at South Georgia Motorsports Park, it was Brett LaSala of Bradenton, Florida driving the Mustang known as the Snot Rocket who claimed the victory.

LaSala qualified fifth with a 3.871 at 197.91 mph, placing himself firmly in the mix heading into eliminations. With multiple cars capable of running deep into the 3.80 range, consistency and execution would prove to be the deciding factors throughout race day.

Round one saw LaSala defeat Dallas Harp with a strong 4.003 at 185.46 mph. As the ladder progressed and conditions improved, the performance of Snot Rocket began to sharpen.

In round two LaSala turned on the win light against Justin Woodson with a 3.906 at 198.55 mph. The car continued to build momentum as the rounds went on.

Round three versus Marques Hatton, LaSala left with a .025 reaction time and ran 3.843 at 200.74 mph.

The semifinal round paired LaSala with Tom Gunner aka Jimmy Dale. With a spot in the final on the line, LaSala stayed sharp on the starting line and was first to the stripe, going 3.807 at 201.46 mph with a .020 reaction time. Jimmy Dale got out on him first with a .008, running 3.839 at 191.29 mph, but LaSala’s total package sealed the win.

Waiting in the other lane in the final was Shane Stack, who had also navigated a tough side of the ladder. When the tree dropped, LaSala cut a .005 light and ran 4.123 at 141.58 mph. Stack encountered trouble, giving LaSala the win and completing an impressive day of racing.

The victory adds another strong performance to LaSala's program and highlights just how competitive the VP Racing Fuels Limited Drag Radial category continues to be. At Lights Out 17, the Snot Rocket proved it had both the speed and the consistency to go the distance.
